At the end of June Rotarian Irene Childerley was installed as President of Sawston Rotary Club. The ceremony was held at the usual meeting place, The George at Babraham and Mrs Childerley was presented with her chain of office by the outgoing President, Revd Simon Talbott. Mrs Childerley said how honoured she felt to be the President of the Sawston Club supported by her Vice President Bill Potter and hoped that it would encourage more female members. The plans for next year included engaging the youth with Rotary competitions such as Youth Speaks and Young Chef and setting up an Interact youth group. The Rotary club will continue to have fun and fellowship as well as continuing to support the successful Sawston Fun Run.
