Dedicated motorbike arena promised for Classics on Show 2020

The Flying Flea Rerurns in 2020

Stokesley Rotary Club, which organises the annual Classics on Show classic vehicle event, is  launching a dedicated motorbike arena for its next Show, which will run at the Stokesley Showground in North Yorkshire on 20 June 2020.

The arena initiative follows a strong increase in motorcycling interest throughout the North of England as well as visitor feedback. The club had a tremendous response this year to the appearance of ‘The Flying Flea’, the rare Royal Enfield 125 motorcycle, which was nicknamed for the role it played in assisting parachutists from Britain’s Red Berets Regiment in World War. The response spurred the arena idea, which is aimed at attracting more classic motorbikes into the exhibitor line-up.

And in another nod to motorcycling, Stokesley Rotary has decided that the funds raised from next year’s show will be shared between the Cleveland and North Yorkshire Blood Bikes charity, which provides a free, voluntary courier service to North East NHS hospitals and Trusts; and local branches of the Samaritans, the non-profit charity that works to support at risk suicide victims. The club hopes that Blood Bikes will also be a key feature of the new motorcycle arena.

All Classics on Show exhibitors enter the event free, while visitors pay £6 per adult or £14 for a family ticket. Auto-jumble traders pay £15 for a standard pitch. The event regularly attracts up to 400 exhibitors and an audience in excess of 2,000 enthusiasts.
