This is the 6th year that Pinner Rotarians have taken Santa with his sleigh and reindeer around the streets of Pinner, bringing seasons greetings to local residents.
In spite of the occasional rain shower, we still found large numbers of children and their parents waiting to greet the special visitor. Over the six evening trips, many children (and a well-behaved dog) let Santa know their Christmas wishes and had their picture taken to show to friends and family. Given the numbers eager to join in the excitement, keeping to schedule was a major challenge.
Whilst Santa entertained the children, his band of elves spread the word of his arrival and also sought donations from the public. Thanks to people’s generosity and our friends who volunteered their time, we were able to collect over £4,000 for ORCHYD, a local charity supporting severely disabled children, and other Rotary supported charities.
