Thu 2nd July 2020 at 12.00 am - 1.00 am

Meeting at Rob Yates garden on 29th June 2020 to collect the President's Jewel and present Rob with his badge as Past President to be. The Handover to be a Zoom meeting on 2nd July 2020

The end of another Rotary Year. Usually celebrated with the whole club , friends and guests when there is time to reflect on our achievements, and fun times while taking the opportunity to thank outgoing President Rob Yates for all his efforts on our behalf.

The year 2019-2020 was proving to be hugely successfull until everything came to an abrupt halt due to the Pandemic in March this year. But President Rob Yates continued to de a great job under real pressure caused by these unprecedented events. He used his expertise to organise Zoom events for the club during quarantine time, including quizzes as well as initiatives for members to stay in touch with each other.

One does not always list the events held in the year but this time It is worth noting that despite the Pandemic there were a number of social events, (including a club walk, Line Dance, quizzes, a Greek Night, The President's Night dinner and dance. A Christmas get together organised by Rob with games and buffet), Members entertained others with 'Come Dine with me'. Coffee Meet-Ups at Joe's Cafe instead of club breakfast meetings (eight in all)

Because the BIg Knit had to be cancelled Caroline Winzer managed to organise a "Little Knit" with willing knitters knitting at home and raising lots of money for charity.

On Thursday 2nd July 2020 was the Handover via Zoom when Rob Yates made his speech as outgoing President and Caroline Winzer donned the President's Jewel at the start of the new Rotary year, outling her intentions for the future. Lets hope for her year to be eventful for all the right reasons.
