Rotary Club Meeting on Skype

Fri, Jan 15th 2021 at 12:45 pm - 1:45 pm

Due to the current restrictions, those members who are able to are meeting each Friday lunchtime on Skype. This week we shall be joined by a Rotarian from Brazil - Elias Neto . who will talk about "The Brazilian People".

Peter Tracey met Elias when he was in Brazil with the Group Study Exchance. He says,

Elias is a wonderful Rotarian in a Town called Ribeiro Preto

He will sketch out the idea that Brazil is a land of many peoples, with things in common.  Elias says, I am very honoured to receive your invitation to speak to your club about my couontry, in one of your meetings. And yes, of course I accept it - with much pleasure.

Appearing to you in a meeting will be a great opportunity for me to visit in memories the 30 really wonderful days I spent in northumberland, having the opportunity to meet, in Rotary, so nice people who I still keep in my memories and in my heart. I must say that five years ago (so, 3 years after being in Newcastle in Rotary), Denise and I spent some days in London and we had the pleasure of the company of Peter Chandler (past governor of your Rotary District) and his wife Christine for a whole day.
