WANT TO HELP?

Rotary clubs have existed south of the Trent since the 1950s and have given nearly Seventy years of service to the local community.

Your local RUSHCLIFFE ROTARY CLUB is part of a worldwide organisation of 33,000 clubs in  200 countries with 1.2 million members.

What do we do?

Locally we have been involved in lots of local projects.One of our recent Community Service projects has been the renovating of Dove Cottage Hospice.We sponsor outstanding musical pupils from disadvantaged families, litter collecting, providing trips for the elderly and most importantly of all, at the moment, funding local food banks to name but a few. Over the past year we have logged over 1000 hours of local work in the community.

Internationally our biggest success has been overseeing the near eradication of Polio from the world but we are involved in literally thousands of projects from building schools, to drilling wells and providing shelter in hurricane and earthquake zones.

I’m busy. Does it take much time?

As much or as little as you like. We have a huge range of members from builders to professors, teachers to policemen. We do not discriminate on ANY grounds, race, sex or religion.

Is it expensive?

For a yearly subscription less than £3p.w. But we also have categories such as ‘Rotary Friends’ and ‘e.Rotary’ and others that cost even less.

What’s in it for me?

Apart from the satisfaction of being positively involved in helping your local community, be it Town or village, in numerous ways?

We regularly meet socially for meals. Long term friendship and companionship, interesting speakers, theatre and museum trips and the security blanket for our senior members of being part of a supporting network of friends and colleagues.
