Fundraising

We fundraise to support various charity, community and International disaster and emergency needs.

As individual members and as a club we support various charity and community needs through fundraising, both on our own and with other Rotary Clubs.

Fundraising activities so far have included: raffles, making and selling face masks, sponsored walks, quizzes, a virtual balloon race, car boot sales and stalls, grant funding, a theatre production, Facebook and Just Giving fundraisng campaigns and we have an easyfundraising account to raise funds through online shopping.

We also raise funds through EasyFundraising where we can shop online with many well known brands and a percentage of all spend goes to the club at no extra cost to the shopper.  You can sign up to help us fundraise this way by registering using this unique link – just click sign up -

Since 2021 we have joined with Otter Valley Rotary Club and taken the Community Raffle from being a local raffle to spreading the benefits across Devon and Cornwall.  In 2022 Community groups, Charities and clubs sold over £15,000 worth of tickets keeping 90% of the takings for their own funds.  We were pleased to run the raffle and support them to fundraise for themselves again this year. We also supported various charities including MND, Kidney Research, Gambian Projects, FORCE cancer support in Exeter, Toilet Twinning, Days for Girls, The Rotary Foundation, the Farming Community Network and End Polio.

In our first two years as a club we also supported through fundraising: Life for African Mothers (Midwife Training), Motor Neurone Disease, Kidney Research UK, Feed a Family Plymouth, Toilet Twinning, Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, The Chestnut Appeal and many more.

We have held a fundraising Cream Tea (both ways!) Get Together for Kidney Research UK, held a theatre performance of Snake in the Grass for Rowcroft Hospice and a Virtual Balloon Race for the Children's Air Ambulance and one for North Devon Hospice.

We were successful in getting grant funding from a Foundation Disaster Grant to help a Ukrainian Doctor living in Devon, get a laptop to help her with her English lessons. With other clubs in our District, we have also helped fund a temporary home in Moshchun Ukrain and fund 'Danger Mines' signs for Ukrainian farmland.  We have donated to the Ukrainian Disaster fund.

We have also donated monies collected in two collections made in response to the earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria to Shelterbox.
