Invitational Fundraising Golf Competition for Strathcarron Hospice
Many participants will remember the problems that we faced last year in trying to hold the AmAm event for Strathcarron Hospice. Fortunately, after a number of false starts, we were able to hold a much smaller invitational fundraising golf day in late summer and over £8000 was raised despite the many restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. We were hugely grateful for all the support last year.
We are pleased to announce that Dunblane New Golf Club has once again offered the Rotary Club of Bridge of Allan and Dunblane the use of the course and facilities. This year the AmAm will be held on Monday 21st June 2021 which will be the 35th occasion it will be held. This year is also the 40th Anniversary of the opening of the Hospice.
The competition as usual is open to teams of four using the Stableford scoring format. Further details will be circulated with start times. The best two Stableford scores on each hole will count towards the overall team score. The yellow ball competition will return and prizes will be awarded to individuals as well as teams. There will also be an opportunity to enter a competitor’s raffle.
Entry to the event is by donation with a minimum of £160 per team which includes a competitor’s meal by the Golf Club Caterers. The entry form offers 4 tee-off windows. It would be helpful if you can provide 2 options windows in order of preference to assist the starting time scheduling and we will do our best to meet your request. Team captains will be notified of their start times by email/text. The event will follow the safety directives in place at Dunblane New Golf Club applicable on the 21 June 2021 and further details for the event itself will be circulated as appropriate to the team captains nearer the time. In order that we can provide updates can all team captains provide their contact details in their entry forms. This should include both e mail address and telephone numbers (preferably a mobile number).
The entry form will be emailed separately. To maximise income, we ask that payment is made directly to Strathcarron Hospice and the gift aid declaration is completed at the bottom of the document assuming you are a tax payer. This should be returned along with your entry fee (preferably cheque) to Ken Murray, Carroncraig, 2 Sinclair Street, Dunblane, FK15 0AH. Those wishing to enter who are unable to complete gift aid should leave the declaration box unchecked.
