Charter Night with Paul Whittaker

Lunesdale's 46th Charter Night

Paul Whittaker

 The Club’s 46th Charter Celebration.

Club members together with our District 1190 Governor Welma Robinson celebrated this important occasion online using the Zoom facility. Other guests included Rotarians from several Rotary clubs plus partners, family members and friends. The guest speaker was Paul Whittaker who is profoundly deaf. Paul, despite his disability, is an inspirational speaker, a very talented musician, performer and workshop leader. For 30 years he has been entertaining and educating people in the UK and further afield about both music and deafness. He gives talks in schools and colleges, takes part in conferences courses and training events. The talk virtually ended with Paul giving his very different but very special and moving rendition of “Bridge Over Troubled Waters”.
It was so appropriate that Paul was our guest during Deaf Awareness Week.
