Handover Meeting with speaker Dave King – Editor, ROTARY Magazine

Dave’s talk is entitled ‘Telling Rotary’s Story’. Dave’s training as a journalist began at Harlow Technical College (1981-1982), when he joined the National Council for the Training of Journalists' one-year course, straight from his A Levels.  During a 35-year career, he has worked on regional newspapers in this country and abroad, holding every editorial position apart from being a photographer - although he has had photographs and videos published in print and online.  This has been sprinkled with becoming heavily involved with the training of journalists through the NCJT, which he has thoroughly enjoyed. 

In 2017 he was appointed as Managing Editor of ROTARY magazine, which is the voice of Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland.

He is currently external examiner for Staffordshire University’s BA degree programmes in sports journalism and public relations and is a multi-media sports journalism programme leader, lecturing at the University College of Football Business (UCFB), Wembley Stadium.

In February 2018, Dave joined Rotary Club of Elthorne-Hillingdon in Middlesex. In July 2019, he became the 42nd President of the Club.
