Your Old Tools Wanted!

Rotary Becket is collecting unwanted tools for refurbishment

Do you have any unwanted tools?

Rotary Becket) are taking part in a project to supply old, broken and  surplus hand gardening tools the the Northampton Hope Centre, Charity (“HOPE”) for renovation.

It’s all about tools, hand tools and in particular garden tools even if they are rusty, tools that need a lot of work to bring them back to good working order. In short hand garden tools for renovation.

HOPE runs a workshop which allows some of their clients to restore the hand tools which benefits their clients in various ways, including:

For those who work on the tools it forms part of their journey back towards employment. This includes not only HOPE’s clients but also people referred from Northampton & District Mind and MENCAP.

  • Making the renovated tool available to clients working on the HOPE’s gardens and allotment.
  • Supplying tools to those in poor financial circumstances who are desperate to cultivate their own gardens but lack the money to buy garden tools
  • Other renovated tools are available for sale to the public. This brings an income which is used to support the HOPE’s charitable activities in a variety of areas.

If you have spare hand tools for gardening that are in poor condition and surplus to requirements, please donate them to this project. Never did throwing things out have so much potential to help others who are less fortunate.  Literally any old and unwanted garden tool will be gratefully received, it does not matter how much work is required to bring the item back into use.
