GREAT ART BENEFITS EVERYONE

For the tenth time Richmond Rotary Club has opened its charity art exhibition at The Station in Richmond.

The exhibition runs until Tuesday 7 November and includes 110 pictures in addition to wood carving and ceramics. All the work is for sale in aid of local charities as well as Home-Start.

Organising the event for Richmond Rotary Club, Richard Gibson said:

‘This is a really exciting selection of a wide variety of art by professional and amateur artists. The Station is a great venue where lots of people can enjoy the art without booking or charge. We are grateful to the Station staff for their continuing support.’

The exhibition was opened by Rotary President David Stewart who commented that it was wonderful to be holding the exhibition again. He thanked his fellow Rotarians who had helped to set up the exhibition and said:

‘To a huge extent the exhibition symbolises what Rotary stands for at its best. It is firmly based in our local community, gives opportunities to a large number of great local artists, and ultimately benefits less fortunate people through the charities it supports.’
