For the ninth time Richmond Rotary Club has opened its charity art exhibition at The Station in Richmond.
The exhibition runs until Wednesday 16 November and includes more than 100 pictures in addition to wood carving, ceramics, and sculpture. All the work is for sale in aid of local charities.
Organising the event for Richmond Rotary Club, Richard Gibson said:
‘This is a really exciting selection of a wide variety of art by professional and amateur artists. The Station is a great venue where lots of people can enjoy the art without booking or charge.’
The exhibition was opened by Rotary President Jos Huddleston who commented that it was wonderful to be holding the exhibition again. He thanked fellow Rotarians who had helped to set up the exhibition and said:
‘As someone involved in education all my career, I know how all art enriches the life of all learners and enhances their contribution to the community.
This exhibition illustrates Rotary at its best: supporting the community, providing opportunities to local artists and benefitting others through the funds raised for charity.’
