Wake House Stairlift

Rotary Club of Bourne funds new stairlift at Wake House

                           Wake House Stairlift

Wake House is the Community Centre at the Heart of Bourne. It is an invaluable hub for local charities, self- help groups, advice, counselling, arts and educational groups.

Prior to the covid outbreak there was an average of 800 users per week and it is expected that these levels will return in the very near future.

Access to the first floor for those who could not manage the stairs has always been an issue.

We in the Rotary Club of Bourne wanted to help.

With money raised from our “Run in the Woods” and together with a grant from central Rotary funding, we were delighted to be able fund the installation of a stair lift.

On Tuesday, 23rd November 2021 the stair lift was officially opened by The Mayor of Bourne, Paul Fellows, accompanied by his wife Judy and The President of The Rotary Club of Bourne, Stephen Powell.
