For over 35 years Rotary has been working to eradicate polio. Since the first project launched in 1979 polio cases have been reduced by 99.9%!
Despite Covid restrictions in 2021 we managed to raise a record amount and we need you to help us do it again.
Today polio remains endemic only in Afganistan and Pakistan, our goal of ridding the world of polio is closer than ever.
Over the last 35 years rotarians across the world have risen to the challenge of raising funds, delivering vaccines, working in the field and in general making the world a better place.
Unfortunately, yet again our traditional swim date in February cannot happen in the traditional format thanks to Covid-19, BUT POLIO ERADICATION STILL NEEDS YOU!
Encourage your your friends, family and local schools to get sponsored and swim on any day at any time and as many days as they can during February and raise cash for Polio!
If swimming isn't an option don't worrry you don't need to swim, try walking or jogging a mile or get the bike out of the shed and see just how many miles you can clock up for Polio. Get your friends and family involved and most important of all, have fun!
Many schools walk a mile a day to promote fitness, so try asking your local Rotakids or Interact clubs or local teachers if they are willing to get involved.
