Prizes at District Level
We had a fantastic display of young talent at our meeting on 3rd May when Bill Duncan was able to show the work of and make presentations to our successful Young Photographer and Young Artist winners. Rebecca Irbena from Port Elphinstone Primary School & Nursery and Iona Reynolds of Keith Hall Primary School were winners of our Club competitions earlier this year. Their work then went forward into the District competitions competing against entries from across the whole of North of Scotland from Fife to the Shetland Islands.
Rebecca’s photograph received a “Commended” Young Photographer award in the intermediate age group section, while Iona’s painting won 1st Place the District Young Artist competition junior section. Iona’s work now goes forward to Rotary Great Britain & Ireland’s national competition.
Many congratulations to both girls and we wish Iona the best of luck in the national competition.
Inverurie Club Winners
We had very successful Young Photographer and Young Artist Competitions this year and we are pleased to announce the winners and show their submissions. The theme this year was “Colours of Nature” and all the entrants showed a wide interpretation of the theme in their work. The judges were independent from our Club and were very impressed with the work.
This year, all the submissions were in the Junior Section and the winners will go on to the District Finals. Each of the Winners, Second Place, Third Place and Highly Commended received a Certificate and a Gift Voucher.
