In February 2022, The Rotary Club of Lanark donated £2,400.00 to two international relief charities, Water Aid and Shelterbox. According to Water Aid, there are 771 million people without access to clean water where they live, resulting in disease and death. Further, it is estimated that 90% of the World's natural disasters are related to water climate change. Water Aid aims to provide clean water and hygienic toilets as well as to contribute to the prevention of environmental climate disasters.

Shelterbox provides emergency shelters and other aid items to families who have lost their homes and are displaced due to disasters or conflicts. Shelterbox provides tents, solar lights, tarpaulins and blankets to protect families from hostile environments arising from eartquakes, flooding or hurricanes. Shelter Box also provides tools to assist families to rebuild their lives.
