Well, what a night!
The 190 people who came along to the Old Barn Hall, Bookham on Saturday 7th May were in for a treat, an evening of Songs from the Shows performed by the Guildford School of Acting.
These young singers were exceptional and entertained an enthralled audience with their talented rendition of songs, both old and new. The urge to join in was overwhelming but we managed to restrain ourselves!
As with most Rotary events, the aim is to entertain but, at the same time, to raise fuinds for local charities and this was no exception. Thanks to the generosity of those attending and our sponsors, £4,000 was raised on the evening. This is being donated to the Grace Dear Trust, a Surrey-based charity whose aim, by their visits and advocacy work in schools, is to help save the lives of young people suffering with mental health issues .
On behalf of Bookham & Horsley Rotary and the Grace Dear Trust we would like to thank everyone who supported the event and made it such a huge success.
