All too often disaster strike in parts of the world that have little resources to recover and need outside support. We often contribute to this recovery by supplying ShelterBoxes (www.shelterbox.org) and Aquaboxes (www.aquabox.org).

We donated £1000 to the Hope and Homes for Children charity that is active in Ukraine looking for loving homes for children orphaned in the war. We also gave £2,000 to Disasters Emergency Committee and £1300 to the Rotary International appeal

Jubilee Celebration Dinner

Over the Jubilee Celebration weekend we help run the Sunninghill Council car parks for their "Party in the Park" we raised £676 for Ukraine. We also held a Celebration Dinner at Windlesham Golf Club.

In Rotary we group clubs into Districts. Ours is called 1090 and covers over 60 clubs in the Thames Valley. This year's annual conference was in Oxford. 430 attended and the black tie dinner was in Keble College for 240 people.

The 2 LVS winners Cora Merriman and Ava Murray with their English teacher. Club President, William Stokes to the right presented the awards and certificates. A presentation to the Junior winner, Anton Travin, was at the Junior School Assembly.

The Young Writer competition for schools is a three stages event, Club level, District, level and National. There are 3 age groups, Junior, Intermediate and Senior.

We support local schools with both funds and equipment. Sometimes we combine with other charities to raise enough to buy more expensive items (e.g. minibuses, or fitting them out and laptop computers)

Every year we entertain the scholars (sponsored by Rotary to complete a Masters degree) for an afternoon at the races and later, at the club dinner, they tell about their homes, studies and future plans -- Amazing young people.

Ascot and Ingelheim visiting a small castle in the middle of the Rhine.

We have partner clubs in Gulpen/Vaals (Netherlands), Ingelheim (Germany) and St Nazaire (France). We have been enjoying exchange visits for many years.

During the last two years we have worked with other Rotary clubs (local and in Germany), to raise money for the new Thames Hospice. This support is on-going as we help develop and pay for the training of nurses and supply of garden furniture.
