At the Car Boot sale today 28th August

Raising funds and promoting Rotary

We held another car boot sale thanks to all the donations to raise some funds for the Club.selling an array of items from bric-a-brac, an assortment of toys, books, pictures and frames, clothes etc. We were however amongst the numerous sellers and on a head count of the number of stalls these amounted to around 300, so the competition was enormous and  no wonder they call Hook Road Car Boot the Daddy of Car Boots.

There was a steady flow of customers and some just browsed whilst others did purchase items from the stall or just came and chatted to us and we were able to promote Epsom Rotary, and meet visitors to the Borugh as well as many locals. Thanks is expressed to those who assisted on the day - Lionel Blackman and Bob Frisby who both enjoyed the open space and vibes of the event.

Lionel and I were there as early as 7am in line with the many sellers waiting to pitch and held out for the duration of the event until 12 noon. I was somewhat a little disappointed the sales were not as prosperous but its great fun doing  and car boot sales, meeting and chatting to the community, and again given the fact that we up against vast competition, it was good to be able hand over some funds to the Club at the end of the event.
