EPSOM ROTARY - A HELPING HAND AT THE VETERANS HUB - 01 November 2022
On the first of each month (with the exception of January) the Veterans Hub is held at 135 Geo Squadron Ewell where Veterans and their families gather together to meet like-minded people and enjoy activities and speakers. The sessions are organised by Tracey Morris from Surrey CC, Epsom Royal British Legion, friends and, of course, members of Epsom Rotary - always willing to lend a helping hand.
At this session there was a very moving remembrance service, one of the veterans providing a bugle tribute of the last post, lunch courtesy of Nando's of Epsom and time to socialise. The veterans always say they enjoy the Hub and are also given other opportunities like arranged days out.
Epsom Rotary members have now been involved for some time assisting with the events and really enjoy seeing smiles on the faces of the veterans. In addition to the normal volunteers, there were more helpers than normal on this special day.
