What’s it all about ? Fun & Fundraising !!
Sunday 18 June at the North Yorkshire Water Park is when teams of 17 paddle in races in 12 metre dragon boats. Winners’ medals will be given out on the day & prizes for special categories (e.g. fastest team of ladies, charities, fathers……) at the presentation evening - July 5.
Local organisations/benefactors, sponsor teams & muster a crew of paddlers and nominate a charity or cause for which to raise funds. Scarborough Cavaliers help sponsors, paddlers, supporters and spectators have a great day out, & work with all participants to raise funds for the charities.
24 teams 400 paddlers 2,000 spectators
£18,000 raised for 26 charities in 2022

Worldwide Rotary supports dozens of projects - the most long lasting & ambitious is the project to eradicate polio – now endemic in just two countries. We also have projects in Ghana & India supporting schools & delivering clean water.
more- not our core business; but we have rattled buckets in aid of disasters; run tombolas at music events, organised car parking at shows,sold plants at (our own) community fair, run raffles, organised events such as Dragon Boats – & had fun!
moreVaried social activities, & worthwhile projects near & far. Our diverse members exchange ideas, create lifelong relationships, join in service projects that make a lasting impact in communities. We aim to have fun, but with a purpose.

moreOur convivial weekly meetings form a platform for our eclectic speakers. We learn of many varied interests. ‘Special events’ such as Burns night, Christmas celebrations and visits to places of refreshment add to the opportunities for fellowship and fun.
