A new initiative providing local businesses with valuable CSR opportunities is proving a great success for David Williams IFA (DWIFA).

In January 2022 DWIFA became the first Corporate Member of the Northampton Club of Northampton Becket as part of a pilot intended to broaden the Club’s Membership appeal. Four volunteers from DWIFA put their hands up – with no arm twisting – to take part and 12 month’s on the scheme has been so successful that the Club has just welcomed a second Corporate member; David Smith Associates.

So how does it work and why has it proved so successful?

The idea is that individual Rotary Membership – which involves regular attendance at the Club’s breakfast meetings (full English or continental at the Overstone Lodge Resort) is shared across up to four Corporate Members representing the sponsoring local business.

Typically one of the firm’s delegates will attend each week to listen to interesting speakers from a wide range of good causes looking for support and once a month the team get together to communicate Club activities back to the firm’s general workforce. This has led to DWIFA staff helping support numerous local charities through attendance at fund-raising events or participation in “hands-on” community projects such as refurbing a sensory garden for a local special needs school.

“The engagement across our business has been remarkable and in all honesty way beyond our expectations” comments DWIFA Managing Director Nick Beal. “I’m so proud of our people.”

The spin-off in terms of good publicity and associated CSR accreditation has also been extremely positive for the firm.

Corporate Rotary Becket (CRB) membership costs between £50 and £62.50 per month for the sponsoring business depending upon the number of your delegates (4 max) and if you would like to know more about how it works please email david.sparrow@rotarybecket.org.

Someone from Rotary Becket will be pleased to pop to see you for a quick chat over a coffee with no obligation. To learn more about how your firm could become a CRB member to support our local community in a very positive and enjoyable way then do please get in touch.
