As part of the Centenary celebrations, the Club has partnered with the Hotel de Havelet and local neighbours, to provide a new defibrillator for the local community. This valuable life saving equipment has been installed by the Cardiac Action Group and is located just inside the upper gate of the hotel and will be available to the general public for use in an emergency situation. The use of a defibrillator is an essential life saving step in the chain of survival.

Brian Acton, the President of the Rotary Club of Guernsey, said,

“ We are delighted to announce yet another community project in our Centenary Year. We have been holding our regular weekly meetings at the Hotel de Havelet for many years and it is only fitting that we partner with the hotel in this project”

Gennaro Festivo, the General Manager of the Hotel de Havelet, said:-

“It is always a pleasure to support the work of our friends in the Rotary Club and having this life saving equipment available to our hotel guests, staff, neighbours and the general public,  is a great asset”.

Chris Roberts, Rotarian and St John Ambulance volunteer said:-

“I am delighted to be in involved in having another of these valuable resources in our community. This piece of life saving equipment is vital for those first few minutes after a cardiac arrest".
