Rotary Bakewell Rolling out more Charity Collecting Tins

A new batch of collection tins have recently been received for rolling out to various new outlets in Bakewell and surrounding areas – and they started appearing at the end of March.  Anyone who would like to place a collection box in their premises please contact Club Secretary Peter Huxtable (PLHuxtable@aol.com) or (M) 07711 492378.

Historically the club has raised over £15,000 a year for charitable causes both locally and internationally – and also supported various local individuals and organisations – as well as Senior parties and excursions, school debate prizes and annual awards for Citizen and Young Citizens of the Year. Amongst local charities supported are Age Concern, Air Ambulance, Aquabox, Community Foodbanks, Helens Trust, Ashgate and Bluebell Wood Hospices, Eyam and Bakewell Community Bus, Poppy Appeal, Youth Theatre. Internationally we have supported Polio Eradication, Ukraine Funds, Turkey/Syria Earthquake, Hope & Homes for Children, and support groups in Nepal and Zimbabwe.
