DEBRA Donation

Club President Richard Lindo and Club Secretary Leigh Welham meet with the DEBRA team to handover £1500

DEBRA vist and donation.

Club President Richard Lindo and Club Secretary Leigh Welham visited Jenny Jackson and some of her team at DEBRA to handover a cheque for £1500.

DEBRA is a national charity and patient support organisation for people living with the rare, extremely painful, genetic skin blistering condition, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) also known as ‘Butterfly Skin’. EB causes the skin to become very fragile and tear or blister at the slightest touch. With your help we can find treatments and cure(s) for EB.

Richard and Leigh were shown videos, narrated by Graeme Souness VP of DEBRA, telling Isla’s story which shows what a debilitating and painful condition EB (Epidermolysis Bullosa ) is.

Richard commented, "it is emotional but worthwhile watching and, good to know our donation is in a small way going toward the efforts to enable those suffering to be one day able to a live a life free of pain". "There is further opportunity for us to organise good quality clothes collections from our and other Rotary Clubs for DEBRA’s  charity shops."
