Monthly Veterans Hub
MONTHLY VETERANS HUB - 01 August 2023
We welcomed the veterans to the monthly Veterans Hub for the first Tuesday in the Month - August already and the Veterans Hub was recently sponsored by Radio Jackie who kindly donated mugs for the veterans so that they could get a better cuppa.
Thanks is as always expressed to Maggie from Epsom Rotary and Barb Warwick from Epsom RBL who organise the event, and those who come along to assist from Epsom Rotary and volunteers.
At today's Hub was a lovely display of model trains with a film to entertain the veterans which Richard Harris and his friend brought along which the Veterans seemed to very much enjoy.
As always the Veterans marvell on the fact that they are able to meet with each other on a regular basis and are able to continue to share their stories amongst which one of the veterans reflected on his past urgent need for items for his home as at the time he had nothing and had called for assistance from RBL who put him in touch with his former Regiment who had provided generously everyday needed items to set up home, to include white goods and furniture.
