Allotment Work and Work with ECAS
Weekly meet ups at the allotment of course continue as this is a long term project with commitment to attend on a regular basis and those that attend regularly just express how much they love being at the allotment. Still much is being grown and with the success of the greenhouse this year tomatoes and cucumbers have been also plentiful but something I noticed more so yesterday are the beautiful flowers that Maggie has also nurtured for our enjoyment and also for bees as our picture shows.
From time to time our team from Epsom Rotary and Ewell Rotary and friends assist with ECAS - Epsom Common Allotment Society and we were involved yesterday in tending to compost sites alongside the school, to clear away from the boundary fence and today work involved getting ready pallets to make new compost beds.
The work at the allotment we would say has been so very rewarding, being able to provide produce to the Pantry in South Street Epsom over the past few months on a weekly basis thanks to with the involvement o other plot holders at Epsom Common Allotments, to include flowers to put a smile on faces. Maggie arranges mainly with some help collating the produce and delivering to the Pantry who have expressed that fresh produce is always appreciated.
The project is forever evolving and we always welcome an extra pair or hands and anyone wishing to get involved should contact Maggie, at least to have a look at the wonderful allotment and to chat about helping out even from time to time.
