Presentation of Plaque to Epsom Girlguiding
We all enjoyed a positive meeting at the Haywain where we meet every other Thursday evening, to accommodate those that work and to provide a less formal meeting place and welcome anyone to bring friends or for anyone to simply join us. There are events and projects to get involved in and we always welcome new people to participate, make new friends, gain life experiences, and gain self motivation and achievement.
Towards the end of our informal meeting, we were visited by Mary Zoeller of Epsom Girlguiding who was presented with a plaque by the Rotary Club of Epsom.
Epsom Girlguiding after some 10 years of fundraising were delighted to announce that the stunning lodge at their campsite, Little Acres in Horton was finally completed. It comprises a large hall for sleepovers, a leaders: room, toilets and show, kitchen and large veranda running round two sides of the building with full disabled access.
Epsom Rotary are proud to have been able to support the project via the Raj Amodia Legacy and donated £5,000 toward the build and this evening Mary was presented with a plaque by Chris Shortt Joint President.
The brass plaque presented has inscribed the words:
"The Rotary Club of Epsom is proud to support Girlguiding Epsom in the construction of the campsite lodge with funding them from the Raj Amodia legacy, a legacy set up to support young people in the Borough".
Mary was also presented with momentum brass polish and dusting cloths! Mary assured the Club she would ensure it is highly looked after and expressed how honoured she was to receive this on behalf of Epsom Girlguiding and delighted to be working with Epsom Rotary.
