Rotary supports the African Adventures Foundation

A £150 donation provided 300 Christmas Meals.

The Rotary Club of Guernsey donated £150 which provided 300 special Christmas meals to children being supported by African Adventures.

The note below was sent to all Rotary Clubs that donated:

Sending a huge, heartfelt thank you from the team at African Adventures to you all for your donations towards our Christmas Meal Appeal this year. We have been blown away by the support from Rotary, and we can't express enough what this means. Thanks to your kind and generous donations, we have been able to provide special Christmas meals and parties for thousands of children at our partner schools in Ghana and Kenya during the past week.

Through our food security programme, which runs throughout the year, we provide two basic meals - a cup of porridge and a plate of cabbage and ugali - each school day for all of the children at our partner schools in Kenya. At Christmas, we want to go a step further and provide the children with a special meal of meat, potatoes, vegetables and chapatti, as well as a drink and some party games. Your support has allowed this to happen and has put smiles on so many young faces over the past few days. Not only have you brightened the children's days, but you have also taken a little worry and pressure away from parents who are struggling to provide for their family on a daily basis.

So, when you are tucking into your Christmas meal, please enjoy the warmth of knowing that you have made a special impact on the lives of thousands of children this Christmas.

Thank you for your support of our little charity and I hope to work with you more in 2024. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you,
Rachel
