FEBRUARY 2024 NEWSLETTER

Our latest endeavours!

Uniting for Impact:

In our pursuit of 21st Century Rotary excellence, we're thrilled to share how our club, Rotary in Cardigan Bay, is reshaping tradition and weaving fellowship, integrity, diversity, service, and leadership into our very DNA. No more old-school formalities; we're embracing a dynamic approach that resonates with the modern world.

                                                       Welcome New Member!

A warm Rotary in Cardigan Bay welcome to our newest member, Sian from Cardigan! Sian discovered us through a Facebook advert, liked what she discovered, and eagerly joined our ranks.

                                                               Preparing for Spring:

Half term week is here, and we're busy preparing the polytunnel at Ysgol Gynradd Aberaeron for the children's return, gearing up for a new season of growing and learning.

                                                                  Social Highlights:

Members had a delightful time at Bryn y'r Bragdy’s carvery for Sunday lunch on January 28th. We're already looking forward to our next social gathering on Feb 23rd, 7.00pm at the New Inn, Pentregat, SA44 5PT. Everyone welcome!

                                                             Pancake Day Fundraiser:

What better way to celebrate Pancake Day than by supporting fundraising efforts for a common cause at Llangoedmor Church Hall, the Cardigan Oxygen Therapy Centre. Gina, the Centre's manager, will be the guest speaker for the event.

                                                      Supporting Community Initiatives:

We've committed to supporting the maintenance of the Llangrannog memorial garden, home to the newly installed statue of trailblazing poet and journalist Cranogwen, (Sarah Jane Rees. 1839-1916) The statue is part of the Monumental Welsh Women campaign, striving to increase the number of public statues of women in Wales.

Planning for Spring and Summer Events:

Planning is underway for our annual Spring and Summer events, providing opportunities to showcase our work, engage with the community, and raise funds for local charities. We're seeking donations for tombola prizes—any good quality unwanted gifts would be greatly appreciated!

                                                              Join the Movement!
