The Chilterns Neuro Centre started in Princes Risborough in 1985 as the MS Centre. It was set up to help people with Multiple Sclerosis. But in 2023, they changed the name to the Chilterns Neuro Centre.
Now, they also help people with Strokes and Parkinson’s. Last year, they helped 840 people in our local community. It cost around £1.2 million. Only 5.5% of that was paid for by the government.
Stella Kubale said that we need more money from charities to help people.
Ian Summerfield, whose wife Karen died three years ago, talked about how much help his wife and family got from the Centre. He said that Karen was able to live a normal life because of the Centre’s support.
President Richard was happy to give £400 from our Club.
Ian is also a Rotarian. He gave Richard, a banner of friendship from his Club in Leighton Linsdale.
