Wreath Laying and Marshalling Remembrance Sunday Parade
Our Presidents Jim and Carol respectively were honoured to place wreaths respectively at Ashley Road Cemetery and St Mary's Church Ewell Village.
At Ewell Village a commemorative march was carried led by Geo 135 Squadron accompanied by the Mayor, Councillors, local establishments of the community, the Police and the Fire Brigade. The march commenced at 10.30 from Army Reserve Centre Welbeck Close up the street to St Mary's Church, where many congregated to lay wreaths, and then followed by a service at St Mary's Church, to include a bugle being played and followed by the two minute silence. Spectators were welcome and a sustainable crowd did attend
Epsom Rotary and friends also played the part of keeping everyone who attended safe by attending to marshalling road closures and all well co-ordinated with some assistance from members of Geo 135 Squadron.
Veterans were of course in attendance and they were invited along with the Mayor, Councillors and others back for a curry lunch at the Army Reserve Centre.
Thanks also goes to Carol, Jim for laying the wreaths and co-ordinating the marshalling and to those members of Epsom Rotary who gave their time in the poppy appeal around the borough.
