Young Artist 2025 District Final

The standard of entries was very high and the judges had a very difficult task.

The competition aims to encourage young people to be creative, develop skills in using traditional, contemporary or digital media, demonstrate interpretation of the topic, and express personal ideas through a selected medium.

There are three stages of the competition, local area, District and National Final, with three age groups, Junior (7 – 10), Intermediate (11-13) & Senior (14 – 17).

Prizes of £150 for the winner of each of the three age groups at the National Final are kindly supplied by artist Lucy Pittaway and the Fine Art Trade Guild. The winners will also have the opportunity to have a one-hour online meeting with Lucy, and fellow member of the Fine Art Group of the Guild and artist, Caroline Evans.

This year's subject for Young Artist was "Wonderful Water".

The winners of the District 1070 round who will now progress to the National Final are:

Senior - Matilda Dudley (aged 14)

Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Melton Belvoir

Intermediate - Jenna Morton le Blanc (aged 13)

Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Melton Belvoir

Junior - George Barnes (aged 6)

Sponsored by the Rotary Club of St Ives, Cambridgeshire
