Overview
The District 1150 Community Grant is designed to empower new Rotarians in District 1150 to initiate and lead impactful community service projects that align with Rotary’s mission and values. This grant supports projects that address a specific need within the local community, fostering leadership, collaboration, and engagement among new members and their Rotary Clubs.
Eligibility

- Project Scope: Projects must address a clearly identified need in the applicant’s local community and align with one or more of Rotary’s Areas of Focus. Completing a Community Survey highly recommended. A community assessment form can be found in My Rotary.
- Club Involvement: The proposed project should be presented to the applicant’s Rotary Club to secure volunteer support from club members.
Rationale
The District 1150 Community Grant aims to:
- Encourage Leadership: Inspire new Rotarians to take initiative and lead community projects, building their confidence and skills as Rotary members.
- Embed Rotary Values: Ensure projects reflect the Rotary Avenues of Service (Club, Vocational, Community, International, and Youth Service) and align with Rotary’s Areas of Focus, such as peace and conflict prevention, disease prevention, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education, economic development, and environmental sustainability.
- Foster Collaboration: Promote active engagement within the Rotary Club by requiring new members to present their project for agreement and garner volunteer support, strengthening club unity and commitment to service.
- Impact Communities: Support meaningful projects that create lasting, positive change in local communities, reinforcing Rotary’s commitment to “Service Above Self.”
