District Environment

Rotary Clubs across the North West and the Isle of Man are active in promoting Environmental projects within their Communities.

FREE TREES FOR ROTARY CLUBS

Hello from Peter Allonby who is your newly appointed Environmental Lead.
Peter is keen to promote Green Projects. One such, open to all clubs, is the Woodland Trust Free Trees scheme.
Clubs can apply for free tree packs from the Trust, ranging from a very small pack for a tight space up to enough packs to cover several football pitches. There are also eight types of packs depending on the type of project.
Have you got an idea of a space which could benefit in your community??
From a patch of waste ground to a substantial area?
Do you work with schools that would benefit from tree planting in their grounds??
The only requirements are that you have the landowners permission and that you can provide the trust with the OS grid reference.
Hurry though as this round of applications closes in August.
Further information from woodlandtrust.org then look for community, or contact Peter below
