From Skipton to Scarborough for MND

Skipton Rotarians David Goldie and Kevin Wharton are cycling from Skipton to Rotary District Conference in Scarborough to raise funds for the local Motor Neuron Disease (MND) charity.

This is in memory of Chris Binns who recently died from this terrible disease.  Chris was supported by the Marie Currie Hospice in Bradford and the funds raised will go to help MND sufferer’s from the Craven area at the Hospice.  Chris was a lifelong friend of David and a long time member of Bingley Airedale Rotary Club.

David and Kevin are leaving from Skipton High Street early on October 16th and hope to arrive at their Scarborough hotel before dark! The route avoids the busy roads so is a little longer than you would expect at around 100 miles. Being Yorkshire, there are lots of big hills!

If you would like to donate to this good cause, the cyclists have set up a Justgiving page. Please visit it at

Thank you for your support.
