SANTA FUN RUN - organised by Thatcham & District Rotary Club and kindly sponsored this year by A-Plan Insurance. This is a family fun event which we hope you will enjoy. Why not join us and start the "Run Up" to Christmas (boom boom!!)

THE THATCHAM SANTA RUN - SUNDAY 4th DEC

IMPORTANT - We have yet to finalise arrangements and the following may be subject to change.

This is a family event and the primary objective is for the community to have fun and to raise money for a number of worthy causes. This years Santa Run main beneficiary will be the Newbury Soup Kitchen, please click on link to discover the good work they do in helping those in need around the Newbury area. Runners are also invited to raise money for their own good causes using this event.

Kennet Radio will be supporting us again (very much appreciated), providing pre run entertainment and race commentary.

The run will start from Thatcham Broadway and the approx timings of the day are:-

  • 09:45 to 10:45 Collection of suits from the Rotary Gazebo on the Green - We do ask that you try to collect  prior to the day, see suit collection details on the registration page.
  • 10:45am Begin to assemble ready for start*
  • 11:00am  Run Starts* (see stagger details)
  • 12:00 ish  Event Ends

Standard Entry, £15 -  Students (under 18), £10 -  and Children under 8, £7

All runners will receive a Santa Suit (various sizes and styles) and a medal on completion.

The circuit is about 5km - view route 

*Race Start. We will stagger the start to help prevent bunching at the start gate. With your entry acknowledgement, you will receive a start group number between 2 and 5. However, if you are a serious runner you should  assemble for the start in Group 1. If you are a walker, in a wheelchair, or participating with young children, we ask that you assemble in Group 6. Everyone else should assemble in the start group number they have been allocated.

*Race End. When you finish the race, please collect your medal and move well away from the finish line. We appreciate that friends and family may wish to congratulate you but to avoid congestion we ask that you keep the finish approach and finishing line clear.
