Buddy Benches - To combat loneliness
We have placed Buddy Bench signs on 12 benches throughout the Borough and are planning more locations. This is a recent bench at Craig Road Playing Fields.
We know that many people suffered from loneliness and isolation during the Pandemic. To try to encourage more friendliness, Rotary Stockport Lamplighters have placed 10 Buddy Bench plaques on public benches throughout the Stockport borough. The aim is to encourage individuals within communities to reach out to their neighbours and create a true community spirit.
We are currently looking for some additional suitable sites so if you know of a bench which might be suitable then please contact us by email preferably with a photo of the bench .
