Book Givaways at Primary Schools

We are organising a series of book giveaways at local primary schools.

The children at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School looked very happy to be able to choose some books and we received some lovely "thank you" messages.

We love to work with local Schools in various ways, one being to encourage literacy among the young peopl

In the last twelve months we have been collecting used books from anywhere and everywhere, including schools upgrading their libraries, checking sorting and labelling them, then distributing to the children in underprivileged areas of Stockport.
So far we have redistributed 4,000 books, infants and junior to 4 different schools, each child has been able to select three books to take home and keep. The school can keep any excess for the classroom.
We have a fifth school in the pipeline with just over 500 children and in order to get the books to the children before the summer holidays we are busy sorting a further 1050 books, these children will get two each.
All together we will have redistributed over 5050 books in twelve months.
This is an ongoing project to aid literacy and to help stop good books going into landfill.

If anyone has any children’s books to dispose of please let us know and if anyone in Romiley, Bredbury area has any dry storage they could let us use it would be very much appreciated.
