A digital photography competition for Scouts and Guides of all ages.

THEME – ‘The Built Environment’

Young scouts and guides are encouraged to make their own interpretations of the chosen theme.

Competition Guidelines

Entrants are to produce two different digital photographs to depict ‘The Built Environment’. Subjects can be any structure and can include buildings, bridges, road scenes, statues etc. A grand building might be ok to look at, but a particular feature of that building may be more interesting. Consider looking at the subject matter from different angles and remember that the prevailing light can alter the appearance of a structure. Sunny or overcast days can make a subject item appear completely different. Photographs where possible are not to include people.
To accompany the photographs each entrant must provide a brief statement of no more than forty words explaining why it represents their local environment.
The competition will be run by the Epsom Rotary Club in conjunction with the local Guides and Scouts.
Entries are to be submitted on the web at by Friday 31st March 2023.

JudgingJudging of the final will be by persons with appropriate skills, appointed by Rotary. They will consider technical merit; content and composition; imagination and style.
Each finalist will receive a certificate of participation. Voucher prizes will be awarded to the winner, second and third placed.
