DISTRICT YOUNG CHEF FINAL February 2023
This year the Young Chef District final was hosted by King Henry VIII school in Abergavenny. Superbly supported by Abergavenny Rotary.
King Henry VIII School in Abergavenny hosted the Rotary in Southern Wales District Final of Rotary Young Chef on Monday, 13 February 2023. Schools and clubs from four of the six areas in Southern Wales were represented by Ruby Davies from Llandeilo, Orla Evans from Cwmtawe, Riley Lewis from Crickhowell and Ruby Paton from Abergavenny.
The judges, Chef Daniel Jones and partner Lois Thomas from the Abergwaun Hotel in Fishguard, praised the quality of the cooking and presentation, which was all to a very high standard.
Certificates were presented to all four contestants by District Governor Wayne Morgan MBE, who also presented the winning certificate to Ruby Davies and the runner-up certificate to Ruby Paton, together with their prize money. The two Ruby's will now go forward to the Southern Wales and South West of England Final in Cardiff on 1 April 2023.
