Supporting Ukraine

Updates on our district's support for the Ukrainian people by delivering aid (inc. essential equipment, clothing and blankets).

Generators, disposable nappies, ‘long johns’ and medical supplies

During the period since the invasion of Ukraine in 2022 this Rotary District has donated over £250,000 to aid civilians in Ukraine.  The latest consignment of aid, of which these photos come, show just some of the Ukrainians our Districts donations have aided.
The group photo is of the team at RC Lviv Unity, who have been our partners in Ukraine for receiving and managing the distribution of the aid. Central to the photo is Borys Bodnar, who has been the key co-ordinator.  Special thanks too to Tony Preston, member of RC Whitstable, AG Kevin, who was the lead for the recent ambulance purchase and delivery. PDG Ray Seager who recently was a ferry driver in a convoy, and RC Margate, whose generous contributions recently enabled the purchase of the generators in the photos.

The District Ukraine Fund is still open to receive contributions, and with winter coming on and the Ukrainian power grid under pressure yet again all contributions will be gratefully received and wisely distributed.
