District Young Writer

We were pleased to have slightly increased the number of entrants in the Young Writer Competition this year with nine entries from six clubs.....the theme being ‘Peace’ with both poetry and prose being used to express the competitors creations.

The winners were:

Junior winner: Zoe Baldwin. Sponsored by Rotary Club of Porthcawl

Intermediate Winner: Isabel Crowden Sponsored by Rotary Club of Builth Wells

Senior Winner: Elin Williams. Sponsored by Rotary Club of Builth Wells.

National Young Writer

We were then delighted to learn that Elin Williams was placed second in the senior category of the national competition. Elin, a pupil of Ysgol Calon Cymru received a trophy and certificate.
