SNAPPED’ - WINNING ENTRIES IN YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHER COMPETITION

Sixteen-year-old Irlam and Cadishead Academy student Asher Owens (pictured) is the winner of the district 1215 Rotary Club, Senior Young Photographer of the year Competition for 2023 and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Irlam.

Whilst Umaynah Bhaloda age 13, from the Sharples School in Bolton and put forward by the Bolton with le Moors Rotary Club, won the district 1215, Intermediate Category, with both going forward to the Rotary national Photography Finals.

On the theme of ‘Architectural Beauty’ Umaynah and Asher’s entries were some of several fantastic and to be honest stunning images to be entered into the competition from schools around the 1215 District.
Asher said, “I have always had a love and interest in architecture, especially older buildings with beautiful glass windows and stunning stonework. I would like to one day work as an architect.”

Rotarian Bill McLaughlin said, “We had some great entries for our ‘Rotary Young Photography Competition’, and we now wish Umaynah Bhaloda, and Asher Owens every success with the judges in the National Competition after winning the district 1285 round of the competition. It just goes to show what brilliant and talented young people we have.”
