2 new members were inducted at last week's business meeting in the Westlands Hotel.

Introduced by Alan Lee and Rod Jones respectively, Russell Clarke from Dunblane and Wiesiek Chodyniecki from Doune were formally inducted by President Iain Smith.

Preparations are well underway for the annual Am-Am Golf competition in aid of Strathcarron Hospice which is held on Thursday 27 June at Dunblane New Golf Club and members were reminded there would be no meeting at the Westlands Hotel.

John Kilby reported of his and Graham Russell's attendance at the Forth Valley College Hospitality Student Awards Dinner where the Club presented a trophy and gift to Coral Neil in recognition of her achievement as Raploch Student of the Year.

Forthcoming events are the Doune and Dunblane Show at Keir Mains on Saturday 6 July where our crepe makers will be in action again followed by the Bridge of Allan Highland Games on Sunday 4 August.

The annual Judy Murray Tennis Competition on 14 July at Dunblane Sports Club still has room for more youngsters aged 5-10 with no previous tournament experience. It is hoped that Judy will be coming along again this year to present the prizes and spend time with the competitors.

Finally, this year's Beat Beethoven event to be held on 20 October at Stirling University was formally launched last weekend with a charity car wash. This year's sponsors are Phoenix Honda, who hosted the car wash at their Stirling showroom and Waitrose whose staff came along to support the event. Over 60 cars were washed by volunteers from Queen Victoria School, East Stirling Football Club, members of Forth Valley Young Parkinson's Group and Rotary Club members.

Overall £660 was raised which will be donated to the 2 charities to benefit from this year's event, Children's Hospice Association Scotland and Parkinson's UK as well as other Rotary causes.
