Reports were heard from Peter and Paddy Holmes on the progress of the Beat Beethoven event to be held on 20 October at Stirling University. Arrangements were progressing well with emails, posters in shops and leaflet distribution all helping to raise awareness. Entry can be made via the website:

Our twinning arrangement with the Rotary Club of Temora in New South Wales was developing and we have received a newsletter from them to which we will be responding with our own.

On 31 August, Jim Gardner and Graham Russell are taking part in the Beat the Borders Challenge to raise funds for Children's Hospice Association Scotland. The event entails a 40 mile bike ride followed by 18 miles on foot and will include some additional challenges along the way.
On 1 September, club member Ranald Shepherd will be taking members of the club and the Interact Club on a guided tour of the site of the Battle of Sheriffmuir.
Lawrie Orr was arranging a visit to Rosyth Dockyard, scheduled for early September, to see the progress of construction of the aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth.
Finally, Jim Gardner reported that he had visited Strathcarron Hospice and handed over the proceeds from our Am-Am Golf competition amounting to almost £14,000.
