ROTARY CLUB SPONSOR HOSPITALITY STUDENT AWARD
The Rotary Club of Bridge of Allan and Dunblane stepped up to the plate recently to sponsor one of the main prizes at Forth Valley College's Hospitality student awards.
Held at the Stirling Campus on the evening of Thursday 13 June, the end of term drinks reception and three course dinner proved to be a great success. Hospitality students were joined by family and friends as awards and certificates were handed out to deserving learners who train in both kitchen and in front of house skills.
The Raploch Community Campus Hospitality student of the year - which was sponsored by the Rotary Club and identified the student with exemplary conduct, attitude and progression - was awarded to Coral Neil.
Coral who recently completed her Modern Apprenticeship (MA) in Professional Cookery level 2, then travelled to Aviemore the following day to take up a post with the MacDonald Hotel Group.
Other awards on the night, which incorporated students from both the Stirling Campus and Raploch, included Team of the Year and Most Improved Student.
Aiveen Cassidy, FVC Operations Manager, said: "We are extremely proud of all our students' efforts over the past year, they have all worked very hard. Congratulations to Coral on winning the Raploch student of the year and a big thanks to the Rotary Club of Bridge of Allan and Dunblane for sponsoring the award."
FVC Chef de Partie, Ruari Chatburn, added: "Coral is an exceptional student who is a credit to the College and a worthy winner of the trophy."
John Kilby said: "It was a real pleasure to attend the awards dinner and meet with the staff, students and their families. The Rotary Club is delighted to be involved with the College and to sponsor this award. The students clearly enjoy their time at the College and this reflects great credit on them and the staff."
