24 April 2014 Wiesiek Chodyniecki - Face to Face

Thu, Apr 24th 2014 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

New member Wiesiek Chodyniecki gave his Face to Face talk.

Speakers host, Allan Macpherson, Wiesiek Chodyniecki and President Colin Strachan.

Last Thursday's meeting heard from new member Wiesiek  Chodyniecki who joined the club in June last year.

Introduced by President Colin Strachan, Wiesiek gave a very interesting talk on his life and career. He is of Polish origin but was born in Germany and took the courageous step to move to the UK in 1981 while still a teenager. He was sponsored by Jaguar Motors and gained a degree at Cambridge University. He met his wife to be, who is Scottish, while they were both studying German at a language school in England.

They moved to Perth where Wiesiek worked in Export and Purchasing for an engineering business before setting up on his own, sourcing metal products for the manufacturing industry. He has recently retrained and qualified in Inspection and Testing and is building a new career working on commissions for Lloyds of London.

In their spare time, the family - they have a son and daughter - enjoy travel and hillwalking, especially in Scotland.

Allan Macpherson gave the vote of thanks for an excellent talk.
