· Brief history of WYFRS
· Austerity measures since 2000 and the consequent need to shrink the service.
· Prevention: The success of our fire prevention work (home fire safety checks and fitting smoke detectors) and the effect it had on our activity levels.
· The ‘Safe and Well’ agenda we are currently pursuing (this involves doing other work, mainly signposting, for other partners such as Health and Police, as part of our home fire safety check).
· Protection: How WYFRS works with businesses to improve their fire safety measures.
· The ‘Primary Authority’ Scheme. (This is a national scheme which has come into being in the last few years. It means that a business can work in partnership with one Fire and Rescue Service to determine fire safety measures throughout the country. So for example, WYFRS is the Primary Authority for ASDA in all their stores throughout the country).
· Response: The Fire Service in Bradford District, how many stations and where they are.
· The new Shipley Fire Station.
