Haiti
Haiti where I served for 16 years from 1969 to 1985. I still raise money to help individual families who in turn help others. This of course is how I came to say thank you to your club for your generous £500 donation following the devastation of the Hurricane Matthew in October last year.
A fortnight ago I held a Second-Hand Sale at my local Church and we raised £1,000.51; over half being in donations - people are very generous. Thanking you again for your previous gift which went immediately to helpfamilies in Jeremie and the South of Haiti who had lost their homes in the Hurricane.
We all saw the devastation on Television, but another tragedy soon takes over the 'NEWS', in the meantime people continue to need our ongoing help.Thank you for the way in which your organisation helps so very many throughout the world who live in great need of a helping hand to help themselves.
The most prominent Proverb in Haiti is 'Beyond the Hills got more Hills'; very true but, with help such as yours, some of those hills become less daunting.
